I have to admit, that when I first picked up the book, I didn’t find my self enchanted by the name of the author I hardly read. It was because there were no other books that were available at that moment, so I decided to read the summary with half heartedly.
This book was a Monica McCarty, which then I noticed that this book has two other sequel, Highlander Unmasked, and Highlander Unchained, those were the stories about Rory’s brother Alex, and sister, Flora.
After I read the summary, I found my self captivated. There were no more appealing than a forbidden Love. Why is that? Because Rory MacLeod thinks that Isabel MacDonald is forbidden. Forget about her face or her figure, her name is the strongest reason for him not to come anywhere near.
But, that’s the problem with kisses, specially after he kissed her for the first time on their wedding day, Rory never felt such a jolt that evoked his senses before. Right then Rory knew, that there were no greater enemy than Isabel MacDonald.
MacLeod and MacDonald had been a enemies for century. And this century happened because Isabel uncle ditched Rory’s sister and gave her “the one eyed woman” nickname for all the highlander to know. The hatred was so obvious that the king himself have to come down to cool off the feud, he than ordered Rory MacLeod to marry his best lady in waiting Isabel MacLeod.
The plan was simple for Isabel, that is to find the MacLeod secrets and handle it to her uncle. But as time goes by, Isabel realize that Rory doesn’t want to have anything to do with her, so she set a plan to seduce him, of course the plan seemed to work if Isabel hadn’t feel anything when Rory kissed or touched her.
Rory’s kisses is scorching hot, making Isabel heat with need. His touch is erotic, making her pant and moan beyond reasons. There are no things that Isabel want except for Rory’s love.
Her duty also lay with her family, and Isabel tried her best not to betrayed Rory, but the damaged has been done, and Rory found her guilty, and send her off.
I Really really really love this book, never tired of reading it. This book was the best in the trilogy. I love Rory and Isabel. Perfect match. I love how Isabel was so smart yet sweet, and how Rory is so strong and powerful and stubborn. Yet, he protected her with all her mighty, when he consider Isabel as his enemy as well.
I think this book is a total keeper. What do you think?
